Microbial Molecular Biologist JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
ProZyme, lnc. is a biotech manufacturer of diagnostic reagents used in pharmaceutical manufacturing and research. Established in 1990, we sell primarily to the biopharma industry and to academic or institutional research laboratories. We are seeking a Microbial Molecular Biologist to join our growing team.
Requirements:
- B.S. degree minimum
- Minimum of 5 years' experience cloning and expressing proteins from both prokaryotic and eukaryotic sources.
- Familiarity with multiple expression systems (i.e., bacterial, yeast, insect cells, mammalian cell culture).
- Experience with colorometric or fluorometric enzyme assays and glycobiology preferred.
The molecular biologist will work in a matrix-managed organization, interacting with marketing, protein purification, and production departments. Good communication and organizational skills are expected.
- Knowledge and use of mutagenesis and protein engineering techniques is desirable.
The candidate for this position, will work independently but in collaboration with protein chemistry. This individual will take the lead for all molecular biology aspects of ProZyme’s products within the Research and Development group. The candidate will organize and maintain master banks of all cell lines and production strains.
Other duties include, but are not limited to, expression & screening for new enzymes and modification & improvement of existing proteins and enzymes. The candidate will maintain state of the art expertise in molecular biology by attendance & participation in regional and national meetings.
