How pure is your Factor Xa?Factor Xa Purity
In response to your query about purity of ProZyme Factor Xa, we have run SDS gels, and routinely >95% of the staining is in bands attributable to Factor Xa. This is not part of our QC criterion as we don't think it is a very sensitive measure of suitability for fusion-protein cleavage. Contaminating proteases present in amounts undetectable by this technique could still be present in sufficient quantity to digest your fusion protein.
We have tested CP12 lyophilized Factor Xa, lot 101 001, on a customer's specific fusion protein, but even this is not a guarantee of suitability for other fusion protein pairs. We have offered CP10 Factor Xa, for several years and it has been used by many laboratories with generally satisfactory results. However, we recommend that our customers try small-scale cleavage experiments to ensure suitability in their system.
